The OMICRON Protection Testing Conference at charming Crewe Hall on 16-18 October 2018 offered a range of practical demo sessions and presentations of application-based papers.
As two of the 60 international participants, Ashley and Leon attended the conference in order to exchange experiences, attend presentations and benefit from practical workshops.
The enthusiastic participants and warm, social atmosphere perfectly accompanied the technical programme, and there was a great mix of people from the rail engineering industry, as well as utilities, regulatory authorities and evenuniversities.
Some of the practical workshops included:
• IEC 61850 system verification and data management
• Tips and tricks associated with Test Universe
• Simulation-based and distributed protection testing with Relay Sim Test using one or more CMC test sets.
